Lita Rossana Ford Also known as Lita Ford is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who was born in Britain. She played lead guitar for The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of girls from the 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and rebellious lyrics got them noticed by the rock community. While the group did not make much progress in America but they enjoyed huge popularity overseas. That was the case especially in Japan. Ford was able to enjoy a long and prosperous career as a solo heavy metal musician after the group broke up together in 1979. She took vocal lessons and then released her debut solo album , 'Out For Blood' then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford failed to make any success with either record and was largely absent from the world of rock for an entire decade. It was 1988 when she debuted her most successful album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly was a major hit, along with the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, the success of her career was not long-lasting and for several years she went under the radar. The release of Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen-year delay for the album 'Wicked Wonderland. The year was 2016, and her latest album'Time Capsule' was made available. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
